Notes from Reverend Father Gabriel Bullock:

It is my personal conviction that Jesus Christ went to his
voluntary death on the cross and rose again from the dead on the
third day for our salvation.  After His glorious resurrection from
the dead, the Lord Jesus Christ commissioned his followers, "to
make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the
Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" (Mt. 28:18-19).
According to the New Testament narrative, His followers obeyed
the command of our Lord and established churches in places like
the Middle East and Europe.  In the Acts of the Apostles, it states,
“the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch” (Acts 11:
26).  I am a representative of that original community founded
almost two thousand years ago.  I represent an Archbishop and a
Patriarch that can trace their line all the way back to the Apostles.

When we mention Antiochian Orthodox Church in our name, the
“Antiochian” references the city where the disciples of our Lord
were first called Christians.  In a very concrete way, St. Nicholas
Antiochian Orthodox Church in Myrtle Beach is an offspring of
that community where the followers of Jesus were first called
Christians.

As a result of the vagaries of history, the religious landscape in
America is populated by so many groups who claim to be God’s
people or that they alone properly interpret the Bible.   It can
become very confusing for a person to navigate through this
chaos and make the right choice. To those who are seeking, and I
say this with great humility and great conviction, the Orthodox
Church is the original and authentic Church founded by our
Lord.  It is within the bounds of His Holy Church that we have a
relationship with the Lord.  It is within the bounds of His Holy
Church that we rightly understand Holy Scripture.  If you are
truly seeking for the authentic expression of the Christian faith,
then I invite you to visit us at Saint Nicholas Orthodox Church
and experience the worship of Triune God in its fullest.

Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker

Our Holy Father Nicholas, emulator of the Apostles and ardent
imitator of the Lord Jesus Christ, appears as a living pillar of the
Church, zealous in defense of the faith and a model of pastoral
solicitude for holy bishops. Through his countless miracles on
behalf of the poor, the abandoned, of those suffering injustice
and of all who call upon his fatherly protection, he has to this
day shown himself “a good steward of the manifold grace of God”
(I Peter 4:10).
